    Good morning Paul, an excellent package on your datalogger and well done.Can you tell me; does your logger "automatically scans, detects, configers and log various Qwiic sensors" such as TMP117 temperature sensor and the Adafruit SHT45 humidity/temperature sensor, Sparkfun DEV-16832 OpenLog Artemis is OK with the TMP117 but is not happy with the Adafruit SHT45. Kind regards Tony H.

      @paulprice 11 днів тому

      Hi, it does not automatically setup senors like the sparkfun data logger does. This data logger needs to be programmed for whatever sensors you wish to use in either circuit python or Arduino both of which are supported programming languages for the bee data logger.

    I think you can do better by integrating a chip antenna! I am currently designing an nRF52-based 10x14mm PCB, and it looks doable. I hope to get it soldered for me, though it should be solderable by hand as well.

    Thanks for your info, it is really valuable. I'm looking for a machine which can change nozzles automatically or it has four heads. This one seems to be built good, I like how the reels hide under it, but it seems really slow so I don't know. Also editing stuff on that screen seems hard. Lacking end switches I can hardly believe. I would buy SMT330-LX but it's out of stock (it has nozzle changer). Currently I have a machine from Qi-He, TVM802B. This had uses some old MS webcams for vision and it hardly finds fiducials and doesn't align the components very well, so I'm looking for an upgrade. Any suggestions are welcome.

    What is the actual optical zoom? From talking to the vendor the numbers given are solely digital magnification, which is most of the times useless? Also what is the FOV, did you buy extra lens? I want to replace a keyboard connector on an older MAC probook..Please elaborate. Thanks!

    • @paulprice
      @paulprice Місяць тому

      Optical zoom is 300x, I'm not sure on the FOV. The lens is fixed and not swappable. For working on a laptop it would probably work well for that purpose, especially with the large build plate.

    How does it go placing esp32 modules?

    • @paulprice
      @paulprice 3 місяці тому

      It will place ESP32 modules, but it can't use the vision system to place them, it just uses the coordinates to place them as they're too big for the camera. It works well enough, tho usually I have to look at them and occasionally tweak the position of the module if it didn't get placed exactly right.

    Hi Paul, I'm on the fence about changing to 0603 on some LED's on my boards. I have the YY1, and yes, the demonstration board that came with it seems to show accurate placement,, but I'm very nervous since I have been using 1206 for years. Should I relax and go for it? Also, what is your favorite solder paste? I've been using the NC191AX35 63/37 T4 from Chipquick (leaded), but I would like to go lead free if I find something with good wetting. I have an improvement of the light filter on the downlooking camera of the YY1 in one of the videos on my page. It greatly improves the ability to find fiducials.

    Awesome review. Thanks! Whats the process if I have say 80 unique parts? Can you re-reel the machine. Would that be more painful than it’s worth? Also how do you do dual sided boards.

    • @paulprice
      @paulprice 3 місяці тому

      80 unique parts would be a challenge. Are there 80 unique parts all on one side of the board? If let's say there are 40 unique parts on both sides of the board that would be possible. Just place one side of the board (I'd do your whole production run on one side, then flip and do the other side all at once) To do a double sided board you'd use a high temp paste for the 1st side, reflow it, try and make sure everything soldered Correctly as reworking it with the 2nd side placed would be difficult. Then use a low temp paste for the 2nd side. When you reflow the 2nd side it won't get hot enough for the 1st side to melt again. Now if you have 80 uniques on 1 side, that would be tricky or maybe even impossible. I'd try and standardize components as much as possible to get that unique number down. The problem with re-reeling in the middle of a run is your solder paste would dry up before you could finish, on top of it being just a major pain in the ass to have to do that every single time.

    The challenge was great. I watched it with pleasure. Anyway, what I want is to add an sx1262 lora chip to this structure. Let's see if it will be the way I want it to be. I think the important thing is that it has an esp32 s3 centered structure (with sx1262 lora chip) and supports both arduino ide, esp idf and microphyton infrastructure. I think having so many programming infrastructure options will greatly increase the popularity of these boards. Especially if you consider the difference between the ESP version supported by the Arduino IDE and the version of the ESP IDF, you can understand what I mean more easily. This type of board will be extremely functional in education. In short, for example, it is a module structure that connects an sx1262 lora chip to esp32 s3 fn8. Esp32 should be designed to keep the GPIO pins active as much as possible. In a sense, think of it as a module. Then I think that this structure can form the center of many training sets.

    Nice video :-) Just a question...I would like to use this datalogger with 3 pressure sensors (4-20mA and a resistor transform to 0-3-3V) on ADC1-3. What could be the maximum frequency acquisition I can achieve?

    • @paulprice
      @paulprice 4 місяці тому

      I can't speak to that exact scenario you described, but the max sample rate of the esp32-s3 ADC is 200 ksps. Your results may vary depending on your exact usecase

  • @knowurself4999

    Use smd antenna that is on the esp32 c3 mini dev board, no need of buttons just expose two solder pads and any tweezer can be used to trigger flash, I could argue that microusb port can also be ditched and temporary wire solder or some hacky 4pin alligator style clip can be used to program it but it might trigger some people, Also check deep sleep as you used your own schematics and different capacitors can cause rise/fall timings on rst pin to change and make deep sleep unusable
